hello! if you haven't signed up for exchanges through ao3 before, here's a quick and dirty guide. please don't hesitate to ask questions, here or on discord or wherever is most convenient to you.
remember, the FAQ and rules for this exchange can be found here.
REQUESTS:
first off, here's a guide from ao3 itself for making requests. i'll include screenshots of my own requests from different exchanges so you can understand what the end result will look like.
this is where you say what you'd like to receive from others. you can be as detailed as you want or keep it bare bones. keep in mind that the less-detailed the request, the more creative freedom you are giving the person who is matched with you. if you are concerned about getting something you would not enjoy, you need to specify in your request what you do not want (your DNWs).
you do not need to make more than one request, but as i said in the rules you can if you're concerned about matching on certain prompts.
here are some examples from when i signed up for
sakuraexchange which is a multi-fandom event. i made separate requests for each ship because i have different desires/DNWs for each of them.

the link is a space where you can elaborate on your prompts/DNWs as much as you want, but the only DNWs that are strictly enforceable by mods will be the ones you put directly in the request. here's the link to my "dear creator" letter - it's not very detailed since i put most of what i felt was important in the requests themselves, but some people have written full-on essays for their letters in other exchanges. there's not a wrong way to do it. you don't even have to provide a letter or link at all!
for this exchange the link field is labeled "references or further information" - if you're requesting anything with OCs, this is where you would link their reference page or share a document that has a collection of links.
in the examples above, i put "choose not to use archive warnings" (the !? symbol) to communicate that i would be fine with receiving any kind of content as long as it respected my DNWs. archive-level warnings are graphic violence, rape/noncon, underage sex, and major character death. you can also choose to leave this field blank if you don't care what you get. or you can choose to mark "any" - here and elsewhere in the sign-up form, if you see a ? you can click on it for more guidelines from ao3 itself. i encourage you to check these to see if any questions you have are answered.

another example of multiple sign-ups is from the
kidscomefirst exchange, a multi-fandom exchange focused on underage content. here i used the archive-level warnings to show that i would want noncon for one pairing but not another.

i did not provide letters for these because i wanted to make it easier on whoever was matched with me. some other participants provided letters but i would have been fine with whatever so i decided not to do so. i did provide a link to OC references for a different request in this event.
a note about treats: typically we see these "bonus" gifts in bigger exchanges, where requests are made public after matches are made and people can peruse them for additional prompts to fill. i am choosing not to do this. even though users should remain anonymous until works are posted, i do not want to risk detailed wishlists/DNWs becoming public to the wrong people.
if you want your work to remain anonymous on ao3 after the event is over, please talk to a mod and we can help you with this.
OFFERS:
this is where you say what you're willing to produce for others. below are some examples from when i signed up for the sakura exchange. i used the "title" field to give moderators more information if manual match-ups needed to be made. i was limited in which ships i could sign up for, but you should have no such limitations as long as it is a hellsing ship or a canon/oc ship with a hellsing character.
ignore the medium specifications in the examples - you do not need to specify what you're willing to make because i want you to fill your assigned prompt using whatever you're most comfortable with. you DO NOT need to only produce fanfiction! fanart is 100% fine - if you need help embedding it in your ao3 entry please contact a mod.
all you need to do here is:
1. list the pairings you'd be fine working with
2. indicate how high of a rating you're willing to do. if you only want to produce something SFW, then do not put down anything above a "T" rating. if you don't care you can leave the field blank.
3. indicate if there's any specific archive-level warnings you want to work with. remember, archive-level warnings are graphic violence, rape/noncon, underage sex, and major character death. in the examples below i put "choose not to use archive warnings" (the !? symbol) to communicate that i would be fine with filling any kind of content. if you only wanted to do something with noncon, then you would mark that archive warning for your offer. you can also leave it blank if you don't care.
there is no "description" field for offers because i want people to focus on doing their best to fulfill the assignment they are given. if you have concerns after matches are made please contact a mod asap. you can list all ships you're comfortable with as one offer, or (for example) you can make one offer for SFW content only for specific ships and another for content with archive-level warnings for other ships.
